Stampin Up! DSP Wreath

A friend of mine showed me this project over on SCS.
It was alot of fun, a project that was easy to do.
This wonderful project has a tutorial
by Chris Twig on her blog:
I found the "extruded" wreath rings at
Hobby Lobby and Michael's, in their
styrofoam isles.

Rosette Tree

I found this great tutorial at Archivers.com.

They had this great idea on their blog!
Mine doesn't look exactly like theirs, but I did give it
a good try.

I used mostly paper I had on hand so it's not the two sided kind.
Brought it to work, and it was a big hit!

Lots of Going On!

I know it's once again been a long time between posts, but it's once
again been quite busy. On Nov. 25th we celebrated my birthday, then on
Dec. 1st we had our 9th anniversary!
We had Booms Christmas on Dec. 11th at Dan's sister's. Everyone was
able to make it except for one niece. Stephanie, you were missed by all of us.
We had a great secret santa gift exchange. It involved alot of stealing
and a big box of toilet paper!
Earlier this week we had our first real big snow storm of the season.
I was still able to make it to work thanks to Dan and "the white stallion".
We have a 350 super duty Ford, 4-wheel drive, that thing can
go thru anything. Two days of being snowed in, and everyone was having
cabin fever!

My First Craft Show!

August was Chili Cook-off for the City of Harbor Beach.
Relay For Life sold tables at a craft show thru my work.
I worked for weeks on getting projects done, all while
helping on the farm to get crops off. We dug sugar beets earlier
that week, and the boss was nice enough to give me the day off.

Gotta ride the three-wheeler

Just had to share this one. Sis and the kids came up for the party, along with mom.
Josh had to work that weekend, but came up a few weeks later.
This was the next day as we were cleaning the shed. They were a great help in setting up
and tearing down all the tables and chairs.
I was extremely grateful for all their hard work.

My Online Ladies

L to R: Laura, Lisa, Cathy, Joyce, Gail & her furry friend,
Emma in the back, Sue, Patty, Dawn Marie,
Debra and her daughter Jaclyn, me.
Notice only two of us are wearing tennis shoes!
Back in August we had a party to celebrate the new shed on the farm.
Since the shed would be nice and clean, I invited some of the
ladies from SCS to come over to stamp and check out the farm.
Lisa, Gail and Debra brought their husbands with them so they wandered
around the farm while we got some much needed girl time together.
Lisa's hubby was gracious enough to take everyone's camera and snap a picture.

One of Many Projects

This a project that I worked on for a craft show at work.
I found some sticky note pads that fit in to "calender cases".
These cases fit nicely in your purse and keep the paper
protected for when you need to use it.
Supply List:
The Nicest Things stamp set
Close to Cocoa Classic Ink pad

It's been a lllooooooonnnnnnggg time!

Sorry it's been so long since my last post.
Been busy out in the fields or busy on the farm. All the crops came off early, or at the same time. We are finally done with Harvest 2010! Two weeks before we were to start digging the last of the sugar beets, Dan ended up in the hospital with stomach issues. We went to the ER in Harbor Beach on Thursday night, by 6am Friday morning he was being transferred to Bad Axe to have his appendix out. He came thru with flying colors!
Dan had to be off the tractors and no chores for at least 4-6 weeks. Do you know how hard it is to do that?! But he was sore enough that he didn't even attempt to do anything. He did manage to go to the farm and check on things very morning. Now as for my sanity, I told Dan if this was what his retirement was going to be, he needed to get a hobby. He was driving me nuts at home. Aside from that bit of excitement, not much else is going on. Oh, I did become a Stampin Up!Demo. I've done a few parties. I'm also my best customer, but I've heard that from most demos. So along with working full time, being a farmer's wife, and a demo, I'm sure to be busy, but I will try and be better with my blog, I promise.

Happy Father's Day!

A Dad is a person who is loving and kind,
And often he knows what you have on your mind.
He's someone who listens, suggests, and defends.
A dad can be one of your very best friends!
He's proud of your triumphs, but when things go wrong,
A dad can be patient and helpful and strong
In all that you do, a dad's love plays a part.
There's always a place for him deep in your heart.
And each year that passes, you're even more glad,
More grateful and proud just to call him your dad!
Thank you,
Dad...for listening and caring,
for giving and sharing, but, especially,
for just being you!
LOVE YA!

Birthday of a friend.

I sent this to a friend from work.
She's currently going to school for her
RN degree.
She's been working so hard, that I wanted to surprise her
with some happy mail.

I Love Fleece!

A co-worker at the hospital just
had a baby girl. I had gotten some really cool
paper that had sparkles on it.
I also thought I would make her a blanket. Actually,
I volunteered to make it as a gift from other
co-workers. This would be Amanda's second girl,
so she needs a blanket all her own.

More cards!

A couple days ago I was able to get to
my craft table and create a few cards.
I really missed my "thearpy" sessions.
Have been busy with the farm, work and
small family gatherings, I haven't had
a chance to really make anything.

The paper is from a friend.
I used Prisma color pencils and mineral spirits
to do all the coloring.

Look what I made today!

I was finally able to get to my craft table
after what has seemed like months.
A really good friend from Splitcoaststampers was
cleaning out her stash of paper, and passed some
along to me. I decided it was time to make a little
something to get the creative juices flowing.

Cool Co-worker

Thought I would share another wonderful ornament
created by Laura Sunderland. She is friend and co-worker
at Harbor Beach Community Hospital.
This ornament represents the online group I belong to.
For the last two years I have spent a weekend in March
with some wonderful ladies I have met on the Internet.
Special women who meet and chat, while making beautiful cards
and altered items.
They are a terrific group of women!

Shower gift

I made another knot blanket for a girl at work.
She is due soon with her first baby, a boy.
I found some great looking fleece at Walmart, and just
knew this would make a great shower gift.
Love the colors!

Family Weekend

Mom, Jo and the kids were up this weekend for a visit.
This is the first time this year, they haven't been
here since before Christmas.

The highlight of each visit besides seeing
Auntie Kim and Uncle Dan is riding the 4-wheeler.

Jo and Shawn were showing off Shawn's strength.
Shawn, a Freshman this year, will be playing varsity
football at John Glenn High School, as a sophmore next year.
He's 15, and taller than everyone in the family.

I Know I'm Late......

I realize I'm late with the Easter cards, but I couldn't
help myself. I found these stamps at
I just couldn't find an Easter stamp that I liked til I found these.
The one above is woodless, red rubber with Tak-it Over on the back.
Using the Tak-it Over I was able to stick it to my acrylic block
and stamp away.
The card above used an clear acrylic stamp
from the same website.
They have a wonderful selection of stamps and a gallery
full of ideas.

Using Prisma Pencils and Mineral Spirits,
I was able to color these really easy.
I also used Stampin Up! paper, ink, and edge punch.

Cute Note Holder

I recently purchased some 4 x6 "calendar cases" to alter and give as gifts. I purchased mine from Papertreyink.com,
but looking at their website, they no longer have them.

So I did find some at Calendar-case.com
I noticed they offer a variety of sizes, so I will be
ordering some more from them soon.

The Post-it note pads inside are from Wal-mart out of their
clearance isle. They fit just perfectly, and I decorated
the cases with coordinating paper.

Mother's Day Card

I made the following cards for Mother's day.

I used mostly Stampin Up! cardstock, inks, stamps,
and edge punch.
The stamped image is from a set of stamps I
received from a friend on Splitcoast Stampers.

To get the raised impression of flowers, I used
Fun Flock. Using tacky glue I sprinkled this over the image
after coloring and let dry. I realize it's hard to see, but
it was alot of fun to use.

Too all the wonderful mom's in the world......

Happy Mother's Day!!!
Her love is like an island in life's ocean, vast and wide
A peaceful, quiet shelter
From the wind, the rain, the tide.
'Tis bound on the north by Hope,
By Patience on the West,
By tender Counsel on the South
And on the East by Rest.
Above it like a beacon light
Shine Faith, and Truth, and Prayer;
And thro' the changing scenes of lifeI find a haven there.

The gang's all here..

Here's a recent pic of the gang:

Shawn, the tallest in the back, and his girlfriend Streeana.
Then Haylie and JoAnne in front.

Little bit of inspiration.

It feels like forever since I've made a card.
Well I recently ordered some stamps from
I've had this idea for a card since I got them.
I used Pallette ink, StampinUp! cardstock, and Prisma pencils.

Look what I did!!

Have you all seen purses made by Very Bradley?
Well as I have said before I'm always looking for a good deal.
I decided that I could maybe make one that looks just as good.
I went to Joann Fabrics one day and thought I would look for
a pattern and see if I could put one together.
Mine is pictured above. Not too shabby if you ask me.

Trying to be creative.....

Here's a little project I thought I would share.
I purchased this box at our local Wal-mart in Bad Axe.
It's a paper mache box that was in the clearance isle.
As soon as I saw it, I knew I could decorate it up.
I used paper that I had won at the Michigan Mingle back in March,
then used StampinUp! stamps for the wording, and an
image that I got from one of my small gathering.
Pretty cute, huh?

Co-worker gifts.

This past March I went away for a weekend with
my On-line Ladies. These are friends I have made while
chatting over on Splitcoaststampers.com. For the last 3 years
a few wonderful ladies have planned a weekend for all of us
to get together. The first year was Birch Run,
2nd year; Bay Valley Golf and Resort, and
3rd was this year at the Double Tree in Novi.
Originally when I booked my spot, I thought I had the weekend
off. But as it turned out, I had to work. Two wonderful ladies
Marlene Klee and Melissa Glaza were gracious enough to cover
my shift. So to show my gratitude, I made them little gift boxes.
I reused some boxes from a StampinUp! order, decorated them
using DSP paper and some ribbon I got from work.
I thought they turned out very nice!

Farm going on's.....

Sorry it's been so long since my last post. Have been busy
on the farm. The last few weeks I've picked stones with Dan
and his brother Andy. I got to drive the tractor so that wasn't
too bad.
For today's post, I thought I would introduce the newest
piece of equipement to our farm family/fleet:
A Case IH Magnum 190 Dan and I went and picked this bad boy up on
Tuesday of this week. Didn't really plan on using it this early in the season,
but there was a slight accident with the tractor that Dan was going to use.
I accidently shot a stone, with the lawn mower,
at the tractor Dan was in and shattered the door.
As you can see with the one above, the door is all glass. Dan thought someone
had shot it out with a gun. Well after some colorful language,
he called the dealership to see if this tractor was ready and to
order a new door. Hopefully it will be in next week.
Until then Dan gets to use the new one, and I don't get to cut
the grass around any of the machinery.

Good evening from the county of snow!
We got quite a dumping over night from a
snow front coming our way.

I was going to post pics tonight, but then realized,
I don't have them saved on my thumb drive and
will have to try again tomorrow.

Sorry about that, but I want you all to know
I'm thinking of you.

Hugs to all!

Kentucky Machinery Farm Show

Welcome back!
No, not me, You!
I have been quite slack in my blog posting.
With the holidays and being busy with the farm and
family members, needing my time I haven't been a very good
blog girl.
I thought I would start off by letting you all know about our
recent, quick trip to the Kentucky Machinery Farm Show this past week.
It was a chance for Dan and I to take a little vacation,
while doing farm business.
The show was at
Cardinal Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky.
One word: WOW!
There were so many vendors there showing new equipment,
gadgets of all kinds,
and many new ideas to make farming easier and better.

We had to find the CASE IH corner,
cause friends don't let
friends drive green.

It was a great time!
