Weekend visit

Well Jo and the kids, along with my mom were up this weekend.
Jo graciously said she would work in my over grown flower beds for me.
I was taking pics of everyone and Haylie wanted to try out my camera.
Yep that's me and Jo.
We have always said that we don't look anything alike.
What do you think?

Today will be another busy day at the farm.
The shed roof has been completed and sand will be hauled in for the base.
Once I get some new pictures I will be sure to post them.
There's more field work to do and a load of cattle will be going out to
the stock yards to be sold.

More visitors to the feeder.

Thought I would post more picks of the visitors I get
to my humming bird feeder.
This little fella was trying to get a drink. I did go out and put oranges
out in the yard for him. Hopefully he has found them by now.

Latest on the new shed!

Thought I would post some new pics of the shed being
built on the farm. As you can see there is some steel
on the roof now. The colors of the shed are green and white.
While the roof is green the walls will be white and there should be
some trim that will be green too.
No green roof on this side yet. Maybe next week.

Look what I got in the mail on Tuesday!!

I was suppose to go to a card swap on Saturday,

but wasn't able to make it due to my recent car troubles.

So Emma, my wonderful new friend from Splitcoast, and hostess

of the gathering sent me a "parcel" with cards that were swapped

that afternoon. I had sent her my swaps a couple days before so they

made it on time.

This is the beautiful box she sent them in too. There were two lids,

one for the bottom and one for the top.

I put my humming bird feeder out on Sunday. Within a few hours I had some nosy feather friends trying to get something to drink. They actually sat there and tried to drink out of the feeder for awhile!

Well not much to report today.

Took my car to get the fuel filter changed Wednesday of last week, and they advised me not to drive it because there was a leak of antifreeze into the engine and outside the engine. They had my car most of the day when they finally came out and told me it was "missing". So they gave me a loaner car; 99 Buik Park Avenue. Can you say "boat"? My goodness this thing could fit at least 7 people! Anyways, it is now Tuesday and still don't know when I'll get my car back. Hopefully Dan will hear something today.

Aside from that, my week is humming along.

Oh, I did put my hummingbird feeders out and already have had a couple of visitor!

Cow are you?

I made these using a set of stamps that I received in the mail from my friend
Dawn Marie.
I made my own "herd". The saying at the top of the card is "Cow are you?"
Now wouldn't this make you smile if you got it in the mail?

The above card is one that I made to swap at an upcoming get together. Unfortunately,
I won't be able to make it since my car is in the shop. So I am sending them in my place.
I used white cardstock, Trendy Trees stamps, gross grain ribbon, Lavender Lace,
Certainly celery, and Pretty in pink ink. All supplies are from StampinUp!.

This is some happy mail I received yesterday when I got home from my broken
car ordeal. My friend Dawn Marie, who I met over on Splitcoast stampers, sent this.
The message in the middle is actually a "dial". If I turn it, I get to read the whole message.
The stamps are very cute! The small one says "Cow are you?" I don't have many cow stamps
so this was a welcomed gift.
Thanks Dawn Marie!

Cherry Almond Mousse Pie!

This is one of Dan's favorite desserts!
He found the recipe in one of his farm magazines and it's been a hit ever since.
We both agree this is an $8.00 pie.

Recent pics of the family.

This good looking fella is Josh! He is my sister's oldest son.
He was getting ready for prom on Friday of last week.
Saturday he was going with his girlfriend and other friends.
This would be Shawn, youngest boy of my sister. He didn't have much to do, so he
hijacked Josh's room to watch tv.

Friday was also the day for T-ball pics to be taken.
Haylie, my sister's only girl is on the far left.
The other girls are friends of hers.

Here are some recent pics of the new shed. It's slowly coming along.

Hopefully steel will go on this week.

Happy Mother's Day!
To the most special people in our lives!

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

This is the latest addition to our "tractor family". Dan was planting hay in the field nearby the farm. During the winter, the hay died in some places, so it needed to be replanted.

Isn't that tractor awsome!
I love to see Dan driving a machine that powerful!

Dan working and the new addition to the farm.

I took this pic one day when I was out on the farm.

Dan was having to move round bales for "bedding down" the pens

This is Charlie Mouse. He just showed up at the farm one day. He gets into everything!

He's very friendly and Lucky, the dog doesn't mind him out being out there.
