Only 3 more days!!!!

Michingan Mingler's Unite!

In three days I will be sitting at the Bay Valley Resort and Golf course, enjoying the company of my new friends from SplitcoastStampers.com.

It will be time for the big Michigan Mingle organized by Pattyb, TracyM, and Lorien. I have met these wonderful ladies and some of the other creative women from this group. From what I have heard from last year alot of sleep was missed, some voices were lost, and everyone walked away having had a great experience.

After chatting with some wonderful crafters for over a year, I feel like I am meeting up with old friends.

Here is the New York New York casino and resort. In front of the those buildings is an actual, working roller coaster. I didn't have the guts to go on it. I must be getting old. This was connected to the Excalibur by a walkway. The walkways were great for getting from one side to the other. That way you never had to wait for traffic to stop.

This is the Excalibur. Our shuttle would drop us off there when we wanted to visit the strip. This is also where we went to the "Tournament of Kings" dinner and show. At dinner you had to eat everything with your fingers. We had a sprig of broccoli, some potato wedges, roll, and cornish hen. During the show we cheered on "our king" by pounding on the tables and cheering. It was GREAT!

We also went to Madame Tuseud's Wax Museum. I had my picture taken with Duane "the Rock" Johnson.

This is Dan with Julia Roberts.
The figures was so real looking. I was telling Dan who they were as we walked thru the building. It was 3 floors, with different sections. There was racing with Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr., Jeff Gordon, and Paul Neuman.
There was one with musical performers; Prince, Beyonce, Madonna, Tom Jones and more.

The mountains just took our breath away.

The white base of the mountains is the water line for the dam. At some point the water was that high. According to our guide the water is down 50%.

Another great picture!

This would be Dan and I at the Hoover Dam. It was very windy that day. A very nice woman asked us if we wanted our picture taken. It was just a quick stop on our way to the dam, we had just enough time to take a few pics and then it was back on the bus.

According to our tour guide/bus driver, this is a monument to the men who would hang over the rock on ropes and drill holes for dynamite to clear the way for starting the dam. Out of the 100 deaths during the construction, not one of them were the guys who did this job.

If you look close, there is construction going on over the dam. By this time next year there should be a bridge connecting both sides of the dam. Because of high traffic and the winding road, a bridge is being built to relieve the congestion of automobile's that drive over every day.

We finally made it to Vegas!!!
After weeks of planning and scheduling Dan and I went on our vacation. The weather was perfect. Not too hot, a little cool in the am, great for walking "the strip".
This is the time share we stayed at:
This would be the view from our room.
We were on the 10th floor of a 12 story time share.
Room 1009A in the Iris building.

We couldn't believe the view! It was great to see the mountains. Even though we left snow behind, it was nice to see it again.

The big casino next door to us was the "South Point". Not only was it a casino, it housed a huge equestian arena for horse shows and bull riding, it has eight different restraunts inside. We did eat there a few times, the food was pretty good.
