Happy weekend everybody! Thought I would post a pic of the farm, taken a few years ago, from a plane.

From what I understand every few years a guy will come around and inquire to farmers to see if they would like an aeriel picture taken of the farm.

Since this picture was taken the corn crib at the bottom of the picture has been taken down and there is now a wood pile. Not much has changed on the farm.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. It's cold and snowy here. The sun was out today, but didn't stay out long.

I know I haven't posted in over a week, but let me tell you time just flies by.
This is a tin I deco-paged using a lunch tin purchased at Hobby Lobby and white tissue paper with different colored stars. I did two layers all around the tin. I thought it turned out quite well. Haven't decided what to put on the inside, but I'm sure I can come up with something.

I got the original idea from Splitcoast stampers, and have had fun creating these ever since.

As you all know we farm, or at least Dan does. (I usually just go out to do the grunt work.) We also have beef cattle that have to be taken care of. Most of the time, especially during the spring, summer, and fall we aren't able to venture too far from the farm.

Well, this year we are.

We're going on VACATION!!!!!

Yep, we're outta here.

At the end of February we are headed to Las Vegas!

Plans have been made, and the excitement is building. Neither one of us have been that far across the United States. Now that all this snow is starting to show up, we thought it would be a good time to fly the friendly skies.

We'll even try to bring home some sunshine for everyone.

Remember this card? Well I also made a bag for them when I gave the cards to my friend at the hospital. I used a white lunch bag that I found at my local drug store, and cut cardstock to glue to the sides of the bag. I also used a oval punch to make handles that I tied together using Christmas ribbon. Other punches I used were; a snowman, snowflake, and deckled tag.

When I asked her later if she sent any out, she said "a few, mostly to my kids"

I thought that was cute.

These are the projects I gave my hubby's four younger nieces. I bought a "tie-a-knot" quilt out of a stitching catalog, and thought "I do this!" Since I'm the crafty aunt, I thought a craft project would be good for a Christmas present.

A total of 48 squares, cut nine inches by nine inches. On each corner, I cut away a one inch square, then cut nine slits all the way around. I got all the fleece from Wal-mart, mostly out of the bargin bin.

So far the 4 girls have at least 2-3 rows done. There will be 6 rows of 8 or 8 rows of six in the finished project. One of the mom's said the girls could use it for 4-H.

Christmas Cards 2008

These are my Christmas cards for 2008.

I used a brayer on the Blue Frost Spectrum pad, then used Bashful Blue and Brocade blue for the framing. Using the "ticket corner" punch, I gave the card a little extra "something".

The stamps sets were:

"Lovely as a Tree" and "Short and Sweet".

They turned out very nice.

I've gotten alot of complements on them too.
